Mancow Buys House in Wilmette
Popular shock jock on "The Loop" calls the North Shore suburb "paradise" after renting another home there for the past two years.

Longtime Chicago shock jock Erich “Mancow” Mueller has bashed the city as “unlivable” due to substandard schools and high parking costs.
So that’s why he’s moving his family to Wilmette, a village he has referred to as “paradise.”
Mancow, a reality TV star and WLUP-FM 97.9 morning host, paid $2 million for a five-bedroom, 4,635-square-foot Italian Renaissance-style house in the village, according to Chicago Tribune Elite Street reports. He and his family have been living in a Wilmette rental house since 2013.

The popular “Loop” personality told Elite Street he and his family have been eyeing the house they just bought, the former home of former Kraft Foods Chief Marketing Officer Deanie Elsner, for some time. It underwent about $1 million in renovations after Elsner bought it in 2012 for $1.3 million. He first listed it in August for $2.1 million.
A mud room, nine-foot ceilings and a master suite with a fireplace are other amenities in the home.

“”We call (the house) ‘Casa de Mancow,’” the shock jock said.
