Former HSBC CEO Sells Winnetka Home

Home goes for $2.2 million.

Three years after moving to Bermuda to run a bank there, former HSBC North America CEO Brendan McDonagh has finally unloaded his Winnetka home.

The four-bedroom, contemporary-style house on the east side of village netted $2.2 million for McDonagh, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Records indicate the house was listed for $2.6 million last May, but it was then taken off the market before relisting it on March 30.

“It’s just a breathtaking property. It has more natural light than almost any home on the North Shore, with exposure on all sides,” said Dana Slager of CONLON/Christie’s International Real Estate. “It’s a beautiful modern house that accentuates the simple lines of architecture. And with three outdoor terraces on the second floor and two patio terraces on the first floor, the house really lets you keep the outside and bring the greenery inside.”
