WINNETKA, IL — For one night this holiday season, up to four guests will have a chance to spend a night in the Winnetka home of the fictional McCallister family in the classic 1990 film "Home Alone."
The unprecedented offer is part of a promotion by the short-term rental company Airbnb and the studio marketing "Home Sweet Home Alone," the sixth movie in the "Home Alone" franchise.
Actor Devin Ratray, 44, who portrayed Buzz McAllister — the older brother of Macaulay Culkin's character, Kevin — in the first two and the latest "Home Alone" movie, will host guests, according to a release announcing the promotion.

Located at 671 Lincoln Ave., the four-bedroom, 4,200-square-foot Georgian Colonial home was built in 1921.
During the filming of "Home Alone," which was written and produced by North Shore native John Hughes, it was the home of the Abendshien family, who later said they had never expected sightseers would be flocking to their front yard for years to come.
The family put the house up for sale in 2011, and it sold in 2012 for $1.585 million, according to property records. In recent years, the current owners carried out an interior addition and added a fence.
The one-night promotion is set for Dec. 12 and is priced at $25. Guests are responsible for their own travel. Booking for the overnight stay opens at 1 p.m. on Dec. 7.
