Lakefront Winnetka Mansion On Market for First Time in Years
The home on Whitebridge lane defines the luxurious North Shore lifestyle.
WINNETKA, IL - A home on Winnetka’s lakefront that hasn’t been available in more than two decades is on the market.
And it serves as just about the perfect example of the good life on Chicago’s North Shore.
The home at 1235 Whitebridge Lane is steps from Lake Michigan. It has a long brick driveway and all the not-so-standard amenities like an indoor swimming pool and spa, exercise room, rec room and locker room near the pool. A dumbwaiter and extra storage space make for a convenient lifestyle.

The residence is the former home of the late Stanley Golder, a mentor to Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner, according to a Crain’s report. The owner is Golder’s wife, Joan Golder. Stanley Golder never saw his name on the deed, but did live there.
Stanley Golder, who died in 2000, has been called by Rauner as “a father figure” and “mentor.” As a private-equity executive, he helped startup Federal Express and recruited Rauner to join his firm in 1981.
