Popcorn Mogul Puts $3M Glencoe Mansion Back on the Market
SkinnyPop co-founder Andy Friedman and his wife bought the 5-bedroom home just two months ago.
GLENCOE, IL — Popcorn can be big business in these parts. Orville Redenbacher built a snack empire from Valparaiso, Indiana, and Andy Friedman, co-founder of SkinnyPop, has cashed in by helping to create a best-selling brand of popcorn aimed at health-conscious consumers.
And what does being a popcorn mover and shaker get you? For the late Redenbacher, it's an annual festival. For Friedman, it's a swank, French Provincial mansion in Glencoe.
But the entrepreneur and his wife are looking to unload the 7,829-square-foot home, which they purchased only two months ago for $3.4 million, according to the Chicago Tribune. The Friedmans' real estate agent cited personal reasons for flipping the property so quickly, the Tribune reports.

So what does $3 million-plus in popcorn money get you in a home these days? Here's a look at some of the amenities of the house, which was built in 1998:
- a deluxe Woodmode kitchen with a La Cornue range and center island
- a paneled library
- an elevator
- a three-car, attached garage and porte cochere connecting the front courtyard to a second driveway/auto court
