Stone Mansion Built for Pabst President On The Market Again

Fifth owner in last 18 years seeks more than $6 million for the beauty overlooking Lake Michigan.

The Glencoe mansion originally built for the president of Pabst Brewing is on the market for the second time in a year.

Now listed Friday at $6.295 million, the 14,364 square-foot Georgian mansion was last sold less than 10 months ago to Jeffrey S. Lange for $4.8 million - who seeks profit on the quick turnaround, according to the Glencoe News.

“Lange is the stone mansion’s fifth owner in the past 18 years, and his purchase price last August was more than $9 million less than the $14 million that a former owner, Red Hat Software co-founder Marc Ewing, had sought for it back in 2003,” according to the News.

The mansion was designed by William Pereira and built in 1936 for Harris Perlstein, then the president of Pabst. Included are 10 baths, a curved staircase, four fireplaces, beamed ceilings, a four-car heated garage and an outdoor pool.
