'What's Old Is New Again': North Shore Open House Tour

WINNETKA, IL — Pre-1950 homes are the focus of a progressive open house tour across the North Shore Sunday, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced. The tour will feature 19 homes, including a private estate at Indian Hill Country Club in Winnetka, three homes in east Kenilworth and an more-than-a-century-old home on a huge Highland Park lot.

"[They're] really special places that often are not open to the public for open houses when they are for sale," according to Winnetka-based Coldwell Banker agent Sarah Rothschild. So far this summer, the monthly themed real estate open houses have included homes for gardeners and mid-century modern homes, with a tour of outstanding designer kitchens set for next month, she said.

The "What's Old is New Again" open house tour runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.
