Winnetka Lakefront Mansion Sells for $12.7M
The sale of the 15,000-square-foot mansion on the North Shore is one of the highest-priced home sales in the Chicago area.
The sell of a 15,000-square-foot mansion in Winnetka on Monday for $12.7 million is Chicago area’s highest priced home sales ever since Citadel chief Kenneth Griffin paid $15 million in 2012 for a full-floor condominium on Michigan Avenue, ChicagoRealEstateDaily.com reported.
The seven-bedroom mansion sits on more than an acre of land and has 137 feet of sandy beach, a pool with a cabana, fire pit, eight baths, a sun room, media room, exercise room, two wet bars, a wine cellar and an elevator--the property was first listed in 2012 for $16.749 million before being reduced to $15.975 million a few months later, Chicago Tribune reported.
Heritage Luxury Builders paid $5.6 million in 2007 for the North Shore property and the home had a $190, 582 property tax bill in 2011, listing agent Milena Birov of @properties, who owns Heritage with her husband, said the sale closed June 5 but declined to comment further, ChicagoRealEstateDaily.com reported.
