2018 CRUISE NEWS IN SEVEN BRIDGES WOODRIDGE
Our very first Car Show in Seven Bridges, sponsored by Community Partners at Seven Bridges Woodridge and the Seven Bridges Ice Arena, was a fabulous success! Here are a few of the emails we received from our participants:
“Congratulations on a wonderful car show last night . . . . All six of us had a blast. Our two grandchildren especially liked the convenience of "Cold Stone Creamery" and just loved firing up the lights and siren of the visiting squad car. We had an opportunity to meet your mayor last night and I must say if her personality along with yours and the other folks we met are an indicator, we are thrilled our kids decided to raise their family in Woodridge. Warm Regards, Floyd”

“Just checking in to say that the boys and I will be there next week with our old Dodge. I think they’ve asked me every weekend since the last show if “this” was the weekend we get to go back. Let me know what else you need, otherwise we’ll see you next Saturday. Take care, Matt”
“. . . .Your event has terrific potential! Typically, cruise night don’t have trophies without some kind of event charge. The fact the Mayor of Woodridge was there as a judge was very cool! Steve”

In preparation of the July 28th CAR SHOW, I was reminded of Mayor Gina Cunningham’s 2017 campaign slogan, “working together for Woodridge”! Though the first-time event was indeed a huge amount of work, as many new experiences are, with the strong support of Mayor Cunningham; the Village of Woodridge; our Woodridge Police Department; the Seven Bridges Property Management, Capital Real Estate Partners, LLC, and our local business Volunteers from the Seven Bridges Ice Arena, Edward Jones, Cold Stone Creamery, Seven Bridges Eyecare, State Farm Insurance, and The Hymes Law Office, we made a great team!
The event also proved to be a privilege for me. How, you say? Well, as a Paralegal in The Hymes Law Office, one would be correct to surmise that the planning of a car show was way outside the scope of my abilities; and, true - we did not have 200 or 300 cars in attendance. In fact, we had approximately 40 car show participants. Yet, far more important than numbers, the businesses in Seven Bridges that gave of their time, creativity, and dedication to the planning of the event, made this event a total delight from start – to close. Additionally, we learned much both from working with those we have mentioned in this piece; as well as, from our new friends whom we met at the car show. The kind, written word still warms the heart with gratitude, as we received from our new friends.
What is the final message from this writing? Hard work, the giving and receiving of kindness, the evolution of positive social growth - these are the ingredients of “working together for Woodridge”!
We invite you to attend our 2d and final 2018 CAR SHOW on Saturday, August 25th. Please visit us at www.Mainstreet7bridges.com for more information, and to see photos from our car show event.
