Easter Tollway Traffic: More Than 6 Million Vehicles Expected

See when the heaviest traffic is expected to hit the tollway this weekend.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — If you're planning on traveling for Easter or Passover, it's a safe bet to head out early. Roughly 6 million vehicles are expected to jam the tollways during the Easter-Passover weekend.

The heaviest travel day will be Friday, March 30, when nearly 2 million vehicles are expected to be on the road, according to a news release from the Illinois Tollway.

To help ease congestion, the tollway will limit construction from 12 p.m. March 30 through 9 a.m. April 2. Tollway officials say some construction will still take place, but will be done behind barriers to avoid affecting traffic.
