First Hole-in-One of the Season at Village Greens of Woodridge
Local Golfer Hits His First Hole-In-One and the First of the Season at Village Greens of Woodridge

The long-awaited spring weather has arrived and the first of many hole-in-ones was achieved at Village Greens of Woodridge on Thursday, April 26. Frank Koci of Naperville was thrilled to hit his first hole-in-one at the age of 71.
Mr. Koci was able to celebrate his first hole-in-one with his good friend, Frank Rolff, and two other players, Jim and Ralph, who they met here at Village Greens. While they all saw the shot, they did not initially realize that it was an once-in-a-lifetime shot for Koci, as the 13th green sits elevated, with the hole towards the back of the green.
Frank Koci approached hole thirteen’s tee box with a pitching wedge and a Pinnacle ball on the tee. The hole is a 130-yard par three that has its green enclosed by three bunkers around the front and sides, with a line of trees along the back of the green, so it can be hard to save par if you do not hit the green. Koci dedicated the shot to his longtime friend who passed away a few years ago and was a wonderful golfer.
