Indian Dance Students Tell Tales With Music At Woodridge Library
Dancers from Bharatam Academy dazzled library guests with colorful traditional dances that told legendary Indian stories.

WOODRIDGE, IL — A group of young dance students recently brought centuries-old Indian tales to life through a moving performance at Woodridge Public Library. Visitors were rapt at the April 15 event as 14 students from Bharatam Academy in Naperville executed precise choreography to embody the characters of these classic stories.
It took the dancers more than a year to master the intricate routines they shared with library guests during the performance. The show was followed by a question and answer session that gave more insight into the powerful stories that inspired the dances.
Some of the dancers in the troupe have already put in nearly a decade of dancing, despite their young age, library program coordinator Patti Naisbitt told Patch.
