Lady Mustang Swim and Dive Team Continue Winning Ways, Beat Rival Hinsdale South

The Downers Grove South High School girls swim team continued their winning streak with a fifth consecutive dual meet victory defeating Hinsdale South 122 to 63.

The Varsity relay team of Alyssa Reinholz, Allie Puccillo, Annie Leinart and Paige Vondrasek took first place in the 200 yard Medley Relay.

Junior Beth Vetter captured the win in the 200 freestyle while Freshmen Annie Leinart and Sophomore Makaila Scheiblein took the top two places in the 200 yard IM. Juniors Alyssa Reinholz and Paige Vondrasek secured first and second in the 50 yard freestyle.

Sophomore Savannah Duax took the win in the 100 yard Butterfly and Makaila Scheiblein and Freshmen Nicole Molnar finished first and second in the 100 yard Freestyle. The Mustang relay teams also secured first and second place finishes in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Makaila Scheibelin, Anna Bogdanski, Nicole Molnar and Paige Vondrasek placed first and the team of Juli Beierwaltes, Savannah Duax, Kaitlyn Hopp and Aoife McGivern placed second.

Beth Vetter added to her win in the 200 yard freestyle by picking up the win in the 500 yard freestyle. Alyssa Reinholz secured her second winning of the meet in the 100 yard Backstroke and Nicole Molnar placed second in the event. Annie Leinart swam her way to victory in the 100 yard Breaststroke. The lady Mustangs finished the meet on a high note placing first and second in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay. The relay team of Makaila Scheiblein, Nicole Molnar, Beth Vetter and Alyssa Reinholz took first and the team of Paige Vondrasek, Juli Beierwaltes, Anna Bogdanski and Annie Leinart took second.

On the F/S level, the Lady Mustangs were also victorious over Hinsdale South securing a 77 to 47 victory. The 200 yard Medley Relay took first with Isabelle Genin, Gianna Lukacik, Gabbie Muzykansky and Alyssa Conderman. Sophomore Isabelle Genin brought home victories in the 200 yard Freestyle and the 100 yard Backstroke. Freshmen Gabbie Muzykansky placed first in both the 200 yard IM and the 100 yard Freestyle. Freshmen Sophia Duax placed first in the 500 yard Freestyle.

The F/S team took another first place in the 200 yard free relay with Alyssa Conderman, Gianna Lukacik, Dorothy Pesci and Samantha Vallo. Sophia Duax and Samantha Vallo took first and second place in both the 100 yard Breaststroke. The 400 yard Freestyle Relay team of Muzykansky, Vallo, Conderman and Genin was also victorious.
