Shooting Under Investigation In Woodridge

Police say the shooting took place just before midnight.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Police in Woodridge are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday night in the 7200 block of Woodward. The incident took place just before midnight, according to police.

A Woodridge police officer reported hearing gunshots in the area around 11:51 p.m. Once the officers got to the crime scene, they found a 29-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound.

The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to a nearby hospital.

According to police, a preliminary investigation indicates the shooting may have happened as the result of an argument.
