Memorial Day Better Ball Results at Village Greens of Woodridge

Teams from all over Chicago and Indiana competed in the 2017 Memorial Day Better Ball Tournament at Village Greens of Woodridge on Monday, May 29. The teams of Mike Pogwidz/Thomas Rodgers and Jed Haake/John Kujawa tied for the net division championship at the annual event.

Both teams got off to a great start to the round. John Kujawa recorded a net eagle at the par 4 1st hole, while Thomas Rodgers net eagled the par 5 second. Kujawa and Haake opened up a two shot lead on the back nine, but Mike Pogwidz's net eagle on the par 5 18th hole pulled them even for the championship. The father-son team of Tom and Tommy Miklasz finished a stroke back at

-11.

In the gross division, defending champs Chris Schultz and Gregg Voitovich tied Dave and Nate Esler for the championship at -5. The Esler's were consistent throughout the round, recording 7 birdies against 2 bogey's. Meanwhile, Schultz and Voitovich eagled the par 5 6th hole, then eagled the par 5 18th hole to erase a 1 stroke deficit and tie for the title.

Conditions and weather were ideal at the Memorial Day Better Ball Tournament as teams battled over the 6,250 yard layout in Woodridge, IL. A purse of $1,820 was awarded to the top teams, along with $510 in skins. The winners are listed below:
