More Than 1,000 Attend Medieval Faire At Woodridge Library
The Medieval Faire included a falconry demonstration, a court jester, and of course, dragons.

WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Public Library was transformed into a medieval castle Saturday, complete with a court jester, a falconer, and dragons. More than 1,000 people attended the family-friendly event to learn about life and culture during the medieval period.
Children donned suits of armor and rode astride steeds and dragons while professional knights shared the finer points of using a crossbow and a shield. The excitement rose at the Medieval Faire as two of the professional knights headed outside to engage in a friendly bit of swordplay, according to Woodridge Library program coordinator Patti Naisbitt.
Naisbitt says the library's next big event will begin the Summer Reading Safari on June 2 with — wait for it — a live reptile show!
