Organization of Music Parents Hosts 5th Annual Pasta Dinner
The April 5th Fundraiser Will Benefit District 68 Band Programs
Woodridge Organization of Music Parents (WOMP), the band booster organization for Woodridge School District 68, is hosting its 5th Annual Pasta Dinner & Raffle – a benefit raising funds to support the students in the elementary and junior high and programs throughout school district 68. Funds raised from the event are used to purchase musical instruments and band uniforms, provide music education field trips, bring in clinicians and host workshops and clinics. Past Pasta Dinners have made it possible for the band directors to purchase marching band percussion equipment so the bands could march in the Woodridge Memorial Day parade and give the band students marching band experience prior to high school.
Pasta donations from many favorite local restaurants including Doggie Diner, Papa's Pizza, Clara's, Shanahan's, Steven's, Al's Pizzeria, Nancy's Pizza, Buca Di Beppo, Home Run Inn, Gatto's, and Capri, make this event an annual tradition for the entire community. The Pasta Dinner will showcase solo & ensemble medal-winning performances from band students, as well as a performance by the junior high jazz band, the Jefferson Friends of Jazz. Guest can participate in a raffle - featuring Band Director Brad Payne's custom-made Clarinet lamps.
