Police Seek To ID Man Who Grabbed Woman On Woodridge Bike Path
The man is accused of running up behind the woman, grabbing her pants and underwear, and pulling them down, according to Woodridge police.

WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Police Department is looking to identify a man accused of grabbing a woman on the bike path in the 7100 block of Woodridge Drive Sunday morning, and the getting away on a bike. According to a news release from the police department, officers were called to the bike path at 11:37 a.m. where the victim and witness described the man as Hispanic, between 28 and 30 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches, 120 pounds, with spiked black hair.
According to police, the woman, 30, was walking westbound on the path, when a man walked up to her from the opposite direction. After she passed the man, he's said to have run up behind her, grabbed her pants and underwear, and pulled them down, according to the news release.
He left on a bicycle he's accused of taking from the bike path, and rode southbound on Woodridge Drive, the news release said. A witness told a responding officer that he saw the man riding a bike 40-feet from the sidewalk into the woods, who then dropped the bike and ran south towards 75th street before running westward into the woods, according to police.

The witness brought officers to the abandoned bike, which is now in the police department's possession.

According to the news release, the man was last seen wearing a facemask, a dark gray or black long-sleeved shirt, and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the incident can report a crime tip to Woodridge detectives by calling 630-960-8998 or by emailing crimetips@vil.woodridge.il.us.
