Thousands flock to Downers Grove Classic Car Show each Friday

Visitors can look under the hood while kids sit behind the wheel of antique and classic automobiles.

If you’re looking for something different to do and don’t mind a crowd of thousands, pack up the family and head to Main Street in Downers Grove between 6 and 9 p.m. any Friday night through Sept. 4 for the weekly classic and antique car show, according to a story in the Chicago Tribune.

The show is organized by the village and the Downers Grove Downtown Management Corporation, according to the Tribune. Owners of the vehicles do not mind opening the hood to let people have a peek or letting children get behind the wheel and pretend they are driving, management corporation Executive Director Linda Kunze said in the Tribune.
