Two Buildings Damaged In Woodridge Apartments Fire
Woodward Avenue is closed during an investigation after a Friday morning fire at Golf Meadows Estates Apartments, Woodridge police reported.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Two apartment buildings were damaged in a Friday morning fire in Woodridge, according to a news release from the Woodridge Police Department. At 3:09 a.m. Friday, Woodridge police and several area fire departments were called to a fire in the 7800 block of Woodward Avenue in Golf Meadows Estates Apartments, according to the news release.
Crews got to the apartment complex and saw heavy black smoke that looked like it was coming from a patio, and a fire alarm was activated during the blaze, according to the news release. Buildings at 7803 and 7801 Woodward Avenue are unlivable because of the fire, the police department said.
As of Friday morning, the police department said it's believed that nobody was injured in the fire.

The police department said drivers should expect partial lane closures on Woodward Avenue throughout Friday.

The DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force is helping the Woodridge Police Department with the apartment buildings fire investigation, according to the news release.
