Voting Machine Glitch Switched Votes In DuPage County: Report
The election commission reportedly said the faulty machines have been switched out.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL --- DuPage County voters may face another challenge during one of the last races in which the county's election commission is in effect. According to Daily Herald, at least one voter said a voting machine changed their selections for two different races so they did not vote in those races. DuPage County officials reportedly confirmed that voting machines in Downers Grove and Glen Ellyn had malfunctioned and were switched out.
The incidents were reported on Oct. 23 and officials said the other machines had been tested and were working without issues. Suzanne Fahnestock, who is the DuPage County Election Commission's executive director, told Daily Herald that there had been few complaints among the more than 45,000 votes that had been cast during early voting.
In the March primary election, voters in DuPage County supported a proposition to dissolve the election commission and transfer its duties to the county clerk's office. In July, Governor Bruce Rauner signed a bill that would allow the election commission to be dissolved in 2019.
