Chicago Meteor Caught On Dashcam Video By Local Cops: Watch
The meteor was spotted just before midnight on Friday.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Police are known for catching criminals, but officers in Woodridge and Naperville are getting attention for the astronomical marvel they captured on their dashcams Friday night. You had to have a quick eye to spot the brilliant meteor that streaked through the Chicagoland sky just before midnight Friday. Luckily, these dashcam videos caught a breathtaking moment that many people missed.
Sgt Robert Chrusciel was parked in his squad car, facing east near 75th Avenue and I-355, when the meteor streaked across the night sky. The Woodridge Police Department shared the video to its Facebook page early Sunday.
A sergeant from the Naperville Police Department was cruising through the city when his dashcam filmed the zooming meteor.
