Windows Smashed, Purses Stolen From 2 Cars In Westmont

Police say both car burglaries took place on the same day.

WESTMONT, IL — Police in Westmont are investigating two vehicle burglaries in which car windows were smashed and purses were stolen. Both burglaries took place Wednesday, according to a police summary.

The first burglary took place in the 100 block of East Chicago Avenue. The victim told police that their car window had been shattered sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The suspect or suspects removed a purse from inside the vehicle.

Police say the total loss was $750.

Another vehicle burglary was reported in the first block of North Cass Avenue. The victim told police that they had left their car unattended around 2 p.m. When they returned to the vehicle around 10 p.m., they noticed a car window had been shattered and a purse had been stolen.

The total loss was estimated at $1003.
