Woodridge 68 appoints new tech director

Woodridge 68 Board of Education appoints Joshua Halverson as Director of Technology & Network Support Specialist effective July 1, 2021

At the regular meeting held on May 24, 2021, the Woodridge School District 68 Board of Education appointed Joshua Halverson as the new Director of Technology & Network Support Specialist, effective July 1, 2021. Mr. Halverson will work with and then take over for director Scott Dixon who is retiring in January 2022.

Josh joins Woodridge 68 with 12 years of experience in education and technology and comes to the school district from Wood Dale School District 7, where he has been the technology coordinator for the past four years. Prior to his current position, he was an instructional coach in the Wood Dale district. Josh began his career in the classroom as a 2nd grade and 4th grade teacher.

Mr. Halverson is a current Ph.D. candidate at Northern Illinois University and has a M.Ed. in Technology in Education with a technology specialist endorsement from National Louis University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Indiana University and has an ESL endorsement from the American College of Education.

“We are very excited for Josh to come to Woodridge 68 and can't wait to benefit from his expertise in the areas of technology and instructional technology,” said Curtis Saindon, Assistant Superintendent for Business Services. “He has proven to be a leader in DuPage County, and we feel very lucky to have him join our team.”

“I am excited to become part of the Woodridge community and am looking forward to working with staff, families, and students,” said Halverson.

In his spare time, Josh enjoys traveling and all forms of theatre.
