Woodridge Closes Deal On Former Wilton Property
The area will be the new location for the Woodridge Police Department, public works, and other important village facilities.
WOODRIDGE, IL — The village of Woodridge has closed a deal on the former Wilton property, which will be the new location for a number of village facilities. Construction on the first phase of the new site between Janes Avenue and I-355 will start soon and is slated to last until 2020.
The 12.69-acre parcel of land, which had a $3.375 million dollar price tag will be paid for using a $5 million, 10-year bond from a private bank at an interest rate of 1.86 percent. The bond was authorized in early October, according to village records.
Construction on phase one will include building a new police station, cold storage, outside storage, and a salt dome. Phase two of the project is projected for 12 years out and will include building and implementing a new public works facility for the village.
