Woodridge Considers Raising Age To Buy Tobacco, Vape Products
The proposed changes would raise the legal age to buy tobacco or vape products from 18 to 21.

WOODRIDGE, IL --- The village of Woodridge is considering making some major changes to its tobacco ordinance that would raise the minimum age to buy tobacco products and widen the definition of tobacco products to include e-cigarettes and other vape products. Villagers are invited to share their opinions via a public discussion session on Jan. 17 or via email ahead of the meeting, officials said in an online post.
Village board members will hear public comments during the Jan. 17 meeting at 6 p.m. at Village Hall. They will also go over any feedback emailed to PublicComment@vil.woodridge.il.us. Officials note that comments and attachments received by email will become part of public testimony on the official village meeting record.
To have email comments considered by the village board, residents must include their full name and address. Comments submitted before 4 p.m. on the regular village meeting day will be addressed by Mayor Cunningham and the board at that day's meeting.
