Woodridge Cops To Ramp Up Patrols For St. Patrick's Day
Police plan to crack down on impaired drivers before and throughout the weekend.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Police in Woodridge are planning to increase patrols through St. Patrick's Day weekend. The push is part of the nationwide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns and will run from March 14 through March 18.
In a statement, Woodridge Police Department Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said law enforcement is "urging [residents] to plan ahead for St. Patrick’s Day festivities." Police recommend taking the following steps to help ensure a safe St. Patrick's Day celebration:
- Name a designated driver
- Download and use rideshare apps
- Take keys away from impaired drivers
- Buckle up when in a car
Police also advise pedestrians and other drivers to use caution during the St. Patrick's Day holiday as others on the road may be driving impaired.
