WOODRIDGE, IL — Halloween is almost upon us in Woodridge, and there's still time to get in some seasonal fun. Even in the time of coronavirus, the Chicago area's pumpkin patches are open — and there's still time to scare up some fun with Patch's tour of spooky yard haunts and tales of local lore.

Sonny Acres Farm —

Johansen Farms —

  • Attractions: Children's Zoo, Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival (see below); free pony rides (offered Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in October), Giant Air Slides, Hay Rides Corn Maze and Noah's Miniature Golf Course.
  • Pumpkins and produce: Pumpkin patch, fall decorations, mums of every fall color, and a pie house where you can also get the farm's famous fresh apple cider donuts and more.
  • Cost: Admission price includes all animals, rides and activities. Weekdays — $9.95; weekends (Sat. & Sun.) — $14.95; Columbus Day — $14.95; children 23 months and younger are always free; seniors (62 and older) — weekdays — $1 off; weekends (Sat. & Sun.) and Columbus Day — $3 off; all major credit cards accepted. Anyone with a military ID (active or veteran) will be allowed entry into the zoo for free. (Applies to the individual only. ID must be shown during entry.) There is plenty of free parking and no charge to visit the pumpkin patch and open market area. All rides and attractions are free and unlimited with paid zoo admission.
