Woodridge Hosts Shooter Response Training For Business Owners
Woodridge police will teach business owners different ways to respond in the event of an active shooter.
WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Police Department is hosting an active shooter training session for local business owners. The July 24 event comes in the wake of the mass shooting in February that claimed the lives of five employees at Henry Pratt Manufacturing in Aurora.
Those who attend will learn about the ALICE method of responding to an active shooter. The acronym means Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evaluate and aims to help prevent tragedy in the event of an active shooter.
Woodridge Police Officer Bean will take business owners through each step of the ALICE method and offer additional tips to improve safety at local businesses.
