Woodridge Little League Team Dedicates Itself to Helping to Cure Cancer

The little league team, which has named itself 'The Cure,' will hold a fundraiser at Roundheads on Sunday.

A Woodridge little league team is dedicating their fall season to a good cause. Nicknaming themselves "The Cure," the boys, ages 10 to 12, are raising money to help cure cancer. So far, they have raised $1,100 online. Although the team's focus has been to help cure breast cancer, they also volunteered at a Salon Aria fundraising event that raised money for children's cancer research.

The boys swept hair, loaded supplies and some held roadside signs in the rain to promote the event at the salon. Two of the boys on the team even dyed their hair pink.

This weekend, the team hosted a fundraiser Sunday at Roundheads in Woodridge from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. to raise money through raffles. All proceeds from the event were split between the Susan G Komen Foundation and Shriners Children Hospital.
