Woodridge Police Dept. Shares 4th of July Enforcement Numbers
Woodridge police issued dozens of citations during the 46 hours of extra traffic enforcement, according to the police department.
WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Police Department announced Thursday the results of the recent Fourth of July "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" traffic enforcement safety campaigns. According to a news release from the police department, Woodridge police issued 64 citations during the 46 hours of extra traffic enforcement:
- Suspended/revoked license: 2
- Speeding: 44
- Distracted driving: 2
- Failure to wear a seatbelt: 9
- Miscellaneous: 7
Woodridge police joined more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies in an effort to get drunk and drugged drivers off the roads, in addition to encouraging seat belt use, the news release said. The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities, including a media campaign, police said.
