Woodridge Police Investigate Racist Leaflets Found In Mailboxes

Mayor Gina Cunningham denounced the pamphlet, saying, "There is no place for hate in Woodridge."

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police are investigating the source of racist and anti-Semitic leaflets that were placed in residents' mailboxes. Chief Brian Cunningham said in a news release that many residents reached out because they were "concerned about the hurtful nature of the leaflets."

The leaflets were found in the Farmingdale Village subdivision on Friday, July 27. Police say the mail carrier removed many of the pamphlets to "[prevent] wider distribution."

Woodridge Mayor Gina Cunningham denounced the racist leaflets in an official statement Friday, saying she was "shocked and saddened" by the content. She added, "There is no place for hate in Woodridge."
