Woodridge Temporarily Permits Beer, Wine Sales With To-Go Orders
The temporary change comes after restaurants and bars shut down over coronavirus worries.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge residents who order food to go will temporarily be able to take home something extra: beer and wine. The change, effective immediately, comes as restaurants throughout Illinois have been shut down over coronavirus concerns.
The temporary amendment to the village's liquor code allows for residents to order pre-packaged beer or wine to go with their curbside meal order. Woodridge Mayor Gina Cunningham said in a statement that the change would be in effect until Governor J.B. Pritzker's shutdown of bars and restaurants is lifted.
In order to take more worries off the plates of bar and restaurant owners during this time, Woodridge is also extending all business, liquor and video game licenses for 90 days and waiving any associated renewal or late fees for the time being. After 90 days, there may still be an opportunity for a longer extension, Cunningham said.
