Woodridge Trick-Or-Treat Still On Halloween, Despite Weather
See why the village said it would be "tricky" to move trick-or-treating to an alternate day.
WOODRIDGE, IL — There's already snow on the ground, but that isn't stopping the village of Woodridge from keeping its trick-or-treat hours on Halloween. The village said trick-or-treating time will remain from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31.
According to village officials, there are a few reasons they chose not to move trick-or-treating to Saturday, despite the weather. First off, they note that the weather Saturday calls for chilly temperatures (around 37 degrees) as well.
They also mention that Halloween is not an official village holiday and that not everyone would have been aware of the change in time, which would have meant trick-or-treaters on two separate days. Additionally, village officials noted that many people have plans Saturday and trick-or-treating might interfere.

Instead, they suggest looking on the bright side of trick-or-treating on a snowy day. In an update, they wrote, "The weather may require some boots for that Spiderman or Cinderella costume, but the abundance of candy from generous neighbors can make up for it."
