Woodridge Village Greens Reopens May 1 With Restrictions

Tee times have already sold out for the first day of the golf course reopening.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Golfers throughout Woodridge can rejoice; the Village Greens is reopening on May 1 due to the amended rules of the new coronavirus stay-at-home order. According to the Village Greens website, tee times for the first day back have already sold out.

Per Gov. J.B. Pritzker's stay-at-home order, golf courses can operate, but with certain restrictions. For one, walk-up tee times are not permitted, so Village Greens must now require advance registration and payment for tee times. Golfers can book tee times online or by calling the Woodridge Village Greens. Online bookings are encouraged over phone bookings to avoid overlap and can only be made three days in advance, according to the Village Greens website.

Additionally, tee times are limited because golfers can only go out in groups of two, with 15 minutes between each tee time. The Village Greens website states that this will reduce the number of available tee times each day to by about two-thirds, to just 80 tee times.

To accommodate as many people as possible, Village Greens is allowing only nine-hole golf for the first 10 days of May to give twice as many people the chance to come out and golf.

In addition to these restrictions, practice ranges, chipping greens and putting greens will be closed for the "foreseeable future," the website said, to avoid large gatherings of people. Riding carts will also be prohibited, unless someone has a physical limitation and requires a cart to play golf.

Village Greens added that their clubhouse will be closed, but that online ordering and curbside pickup will be available for some food and golf items.
