Woodridge Water Rates Changed With New Year
As of Jan. 1, residents have a slight increase in their water fees.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Since Jan. 1, 2020, residents in Woodridge may have noticed a slight increase to their water bills. The change, which went into effect with the new year, includes two bi-monthly increases.
The fixed water maintenance fee has increased by 10 percent, bringing the bi-monthly fee to $2.50. Village officials said in a news update that the fee increase will help pay for "the increased costs of keeping [the village's] current water infrastructure properly maintained and delivering clean water to residents."
Residents will also notice a new capital improvement fee that has been added bi-monthly. The capital improvement fee is $0.30 per 1,000 gallons of water used, which rounds out to an average bi-monthly increase of $2.58 for the average customer.

According to village officials, the capital improvement fee will "will help address the Village's aging water system by planning for the costs of significant infrastructure improvements over the coming years. "
