Woodridge To Weigh Cannabis Sales At Dec. 5 Meeting

Village officials will discuss whether to opt in, opt out, or hold a moratorium on cannabis sales.

WOODRIDGE, IL — The village of Woodridge will discuss recreational cannabis sales at an upcoming meeting set for Dec. 6. At the meeting, village officials will weigh whether to opt in or opt out of cannabis sales or whether to hold a moratorium and revisit the issue at a later date.

The meeting comes after Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a law that makes adult use recreational cannabis legal as of Jan. 1, 2020.

Residents are invited to share feedback at the meeting, which will cover such topics as cannabis production, distribution, sales, and taxes. Residents can also click the link to leave acomment about recreational cannabis sales online.
