Woodridge's traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.

WOODRIDGE, IL — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Woodridge. Although Woodridge’s fireworks and picnic have been cancelled, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy outside over the holiday weekend, as most outdoor amenities are available for use, according to the Woodridge Park District.

  • Fishing: Lake Carleton and Lake Harriet were recently stocked with Catfish and Bass.
  • Tennis/Pickle ball courts (except for Hobson).
  • Basketball courts
  • Baseball/Softball/Soccer fields
  • Castaldo Park Disc Golf
  • Sand volleyball courts
  • Park shelters: Picnic permits are not authorized and gatherings shall not exceed 10 people during Restore Illinois Phase
  • Janes Avenue Park Skateboard Park and In-line Hockey/Futsal court
  • Village Greens Golf Course
  • Park open spaces and trails
  • Outdoor fitness classes continue to run at Duffy’s Pavilion, located on the north end of the ARC parking lot.
