Yorkville Mansion Sale Sets Kendall County Record
See photos of Minkler Road mansion that sold for $5M earlier this month.
YORKVILLE, IL — We still have four months to go in the year, but thanks to a Yorkville estate recently selling for a record price, the number of high-end Chicagoland home sales already matches last year's total, Crain's Chicago Business said. Earlier this month, Chris and Kelli Wilson sold their 13,700-square-foot Minkler Road mansion that sits on more than 36 acres in Yorkville for $5 million, the business website said, making it the 47th sale at $4 million or more this year for the Chicago area. According to Crain's, that's the highest price a Kendall County home has ever commanded.
Brian Kasal, CEO of Chicago firm Four Star Wealth Advisors, told Crain's the acceleration in high-end home sales in the past year is sustained by a number of "high-net-worth households' improved confidence in the economy as the stock market soars, employment grows and other measures improve."
The estimated value listed on realtor.com for the Yorkville home is currently $1.2 million.

Chris Wilson, a co-founder for Aftermath, an Aurora-based company that cleans up crime scenes, disease outbreaks and more, told Crain's he and his wife sold the estate because they want to buy a larger nearby property.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the Wilsons paid $3,076,900 for the mansion in 2013 before renovating it and first listing it for $9.5 million in May 2015, before cutting the price four times by September 2016.

The news report said after taking the estate off the market in late 2017, the Wilsons closed a deal this month in a private transaction with auto dealer Frank Laskaris, owner of the Cadillac of Naperville dealership, according to public records.
