Deer Hunter Found Shot To Death In Indiana

The 58-year-old was found dead on Sunday.

HARRISON COUNTY, IN — A 58-year-old Borden man was killed in a deer hunting incident over the weekend in southern Indiana. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said Thomas Zimmerman was hunting on private property Sunday evening when a member of his party found him unresponsive at around 6:40 p.m., according to Fox 59.

Zimmerman was reportedly in an elevated tree stand when he was found, and officers used a rope and pulley system to lower him to the ground.

Police said Zimmerman died from a close-range gunshot wound to the head, according to Fox. Foul play is not suspected in his death.
