Gary Man Arrested For Murders Of Women Found In Burning Car Downtown

Details of the man arrested for the recent murder of two Gary women whose bodies were found inside a burning car in downtown Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — A Gary man has been arrested for the recent murders of two women whose bodies were found inside a burning car the west side of Indianapolis Sept. 30, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reports. IMPD says the U.S. Marshals Services arrested 30-year-old Tywan James Tuesday in Hammond for a warrant charging him with the murders of 24-year-old Martina Webb and 21-year-old Aliyah Igartua. James has not yet been brought back to Indianapolis for his alleged involvement in the shooting deaths.

The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the women after their bodies were discovered inside a burning car by firefighters during the early hours of Sept. 30. Both suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

According to AP, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the women as 24-year-old Martina Webb and 21-year-old Aliyah Igartua, who both suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Firefighters who extinguished the car fire were the ones who discovered the bodies, AP reports.
