Indiana Bride's Bittersweet Wedding Photos Honor Late Groom

Jessica Padgett spent what would have been her wedding day paying tribute to Kendall Murphy, who was killed while helping a crash victim.

MONTGOMERY, IN — Sept. 29, 2018 was supposed to be an Indiana bride's wedding day, but instead Jessica Padgett spent it honoring and remembering her fiance nearly one year after he was killed by an alleged drunk driver, Yahoo Lifestyle reported. According to Yahoo, 25-year-old Padgett chose to celebrate their special day and bring about some healing with the help of her parents, fiance Kendall Murphy's family and local photographer Mandi Knepp of Loving Life Photography, who previously shot the couple's engagement photos.

Padgett wore her white wedding gown and got her hair and makeup professionally done before heading to meet the families at Glendale State Fish and Wildlife Area in Daviess County, the same place Padgett and her volunteer firefighter fiance had their engagement photos taken.

To her surprise, the couple's wedding party was lined up just as they'd planned, and Murphy's parents gave her a gift of his uniform, helmet and boots, with a sign that read, "No matter your path, I am with you always," Yahoo Lifestyle reported.
