Amazon’s Alexa Now Offering Indiana Travel Advisories, Contacts

Live in Indiana and use Amazon's Alexa? Here's what you can now ask the device:

ACROSS INDIANA — Friday brings an exciting announcement from the Indiana Office of Technology for those who use Amazon's personal helper device Alexa. Alexa users can now get Indiana travel advisories, AP News reports. County-level travel statuses can be brought up by doing this: Simple say, "Alexa, ask Indiana for travel advisories," then the device will ask which county the updates are needed for, before reporting back if there is a watch, warning or advisory issued, AP News reports.

AP News report that state officials say you can also say "Ask Indiana" to get contact information for state agencies and employees.

The announcement comes as Indiana officials are trying woo Amazon, as the company plans to build a second North American headquarters, with Indianapolis named one of the 20 finalist cities for what Amazon calls HQ2.
