Carmel Clay Schools In Top 50 U.S. Districts

Most of the districts on the list are in Massachusetts, but Indiana got one in there with Carmel's great schools.

CARMEL, IN — Carmel Clay Schools made the top 50 list of the best school districts in America, according to a study by Alarms.org. The district came in No. 47.

After collecting data from almost 10,000 districts nationwide, Alarms came up with the top 50 list. They included student performance, drop out rates, school funding and poverty rates in each area.

The data came from Stanford, the National Center for Education Statistics and the U.S. Census.

Illinois took the top two spots, with Naperville and Morton coming in spots one and two, respectively. Massachusetts dominated the list, with 22 of the top 50 spots going to the state.

The researchers at Alarms left out certain data, like from some districts in Connecticut, due to incomplete information.
