Carmel Named Best Place In U.S. To Launch Career: Report
Why Money Magazine ranked Carmel as the 'Best Place in the U.S. to Launch a Career': Details

CARMEL, IN -- Another day, another top recognition for the city of Carmel, thanks to Money Magazine's ranking of the "Best Places in the U.S. to Launch a Career." The publication gave Carmel the top spot, due to the central Indiana city's thriving economy, low unemployment and a projected 11.6% increase in the number of jobs in the area from 2016 through 2021, according to Moody's Analytics. Recognize GEICO? Allegion? Those are just two of the large employers headquartered in Carmel, which is also home to several storefronts.
MONEY ranked the areas (see list below) by going through their Best Places to Live database of 2,400 towns and identified the spots in the U.S. that offer the best mix of affordability and strong economic performance.
Money Magazine reports Quakers settled in the area back in 1837, before Carmel turned into one of the fastest-growing cities in Indiana. In fact, Brewing company Sun King plans to open a distillery this year in Midtown Carmel.
