IFD Crews Help Move Bodies After Car Crashes Into Crematorium

Indianapolis firefighters help workers at a local Crematorium move two bodies after a woman crashed her car into the facility: Report

CARMEL, IN — Indianapolis firefighter crews helped workers at Leppert Mortuary & Crematory Services move two bodies from a crematorium building after a driver crashed into the facility Tuesday. According to fire department officials, the 53-year-old driver told them she was on her way to the bank when she woke up and realized she'd driven through a wall, AP News reports, adding the woman was taken to the hospital and remains in good condition.

The fire department says firefighters were able to get the two bodies that were waiting to be cremated out of the damaged building.

AP News reports that although damaged, fire officials said they didn't need to shore it up.
