Indianapolis St. Patrick's Day Parties, Events And More

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- March 17 - St. Patrick's Day - falls on a Saturday this year, so expect extra celebrating around Indianapolis. According to indystpats.com and Downtown Indy, Inc., big St. Patrick's Day weekend events in Indianapolis include:

Thursday, March. 15:

• Hoosier Lottery Greening of the Canal - 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ohio and West Street, East of fire station (13)

Friday, March 16:

• 38th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade - 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. starting at North and Pennsylvania and ending at Meridian and Vermont.
• The Rathskeller will host the 20th annual Indianapolis Downtown Irish Fest Friday, March 16 with Irish food and live music from Brian Cunningham & The Irish Aires, the Gordon Pipers, the Woomblies and Zanna-Doo. Admission is FREE
• Head to the Pub Indianapolis for Lucky Hour March 16, 5 - 10 p.m.
• The Firefighters Local 416 holds a free St. Patrick’s Day tent party March 16 starting at 1 p.m. and March 17 at 10:30 a.m.
• Keep the green fun going for those 21+ Head to Georgia Street Friday, March 17 between 2 – 11 p.m. for a celebration of all things Irish. Kilroy’s Bar & Grill’s Blarney Bash, in partnership with Red Bull, Tullamore Dew, Downtown Indy, Inc., Coors Light, Guinness and Jack Daniel’s, will feature three live bands, green beer, food and plenty o’ spirits from Georgia Street restaurants. Local musicians Hugh Jeffner, Super Blonde and Lockstar will make an appearance. Tickets are available for a limited time online for $5 each or $10 the day of. Attendees must be 21 or older.

Saturday, March 17:

• 27th Annual Shamrock Run & Walk - 10 a.m. start time, 5 p.m. event end time as there will be a pre and post-event celebration at the heated tent Indianapolis Firefighters Union Hall on Mass Ave, with entertainment, food and a beer garden. Visit shamrockrunwalk.com for the course map.

• Join the epic and FREE Jameson’s ShamROCK & Shenanigans March 17 from 12 p.m. – 12 a.m. at the Pavilion at Pan Am, Pan Am Plaza and Meridian Street lot. Enjoy live music from three stages, inflatable obstacle courses, a Leprechaun dunk tank, NCAA games and more.
