28-year-old man is hospitalized after Indianapolis Fire Dept. officials say his car went airborne, landed upside down while driving on I-70.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indianapolis Fire Department officials say a man is in serious condition after the car he was driving went airborne off of I-70 and landed upside down Monday afternoon. IFD says the 28-year-old was driving a silver car eastbound on the interstate near 21st and Post Road around 3:15 p.m. when he drove off the road, up an embankment and through the Post Road bridge's guardrail where the car went airborne.
According to IFD, the car landed upside down on the median of the north and southbound lanes of Post Road, pinning the driver underneath the dashboard.
The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital after crews were able to remove him from the car, IFD says.
