With a ribbon cutting Wednesday afternoon, the Hyatt Place Evansville Downtown was open for business, after construction delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Project partner V.T. Gala remembered how long they’ve been working on finishing the hotel's construction.

“We’ve been under construction a little over three years, but when Hmang had a dream that we needed to have a property in downtown Evansville, that was six years ago.”

Hmang is Hmang Shah, the other principal partner in the project. The new Hyatt Place Evansville has 139 rooms and features an indoor pool and restaurant.
