911 Service Restored For Landline Callers In Hamilton Co.
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said local 911 calls from landlines have been restored.

HAMILTON COUNTY, IN — The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said the Hamilton County Public Safety Communications Department was notified that Frontier Telephone has restored 911 service from landline customers in Westfield, parts of Carmel, parts of Noblesville, Eagletown and Jolietville. The sheriff's office said Frontier Telephone investigated the Oct. 3 situation and reestablished connectivity.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said the Hamilton County Public Safety Communications Department was notified Wednesday morning that Frontier Telephone customers in Westfield, parts of Carmel, parts of Noblesville, Eagletown and Jolietville can't reach 911 if dialed from a landline. The sheriff's office said the department was notified at 10:30 a.m. about the landline issue, but it hasn't been resolved.

The sheriff's office said this problem doesn't affect any wireless calls to 911 or any other wireline telephone systems.
Frontier Telephone is investigating the reason for the issue and is working fix it.

The sheriff's office said any Frontier customer who experiences an emergency may dial 911 from any wireless device or may call 317-773-1282 to report the situation.
